Engineering Lab I: Computation | House of Cards | 2025

For this project we were given a budget of $100,000 and tasked with building a tower out of index cards capable of holding weight utilizing only index cards, tape, and scissors. Along side our tower we created a CAD design of our tower and a python program to calculate the accuracy of our plans as well as append our towers information to a database. Our final tower reached a height of 40.75 inches and held a total of 240 pennies, resulting in a profit of $53,500

I enjoyed this project as a closer to my first semester as an Texas A&M engineering student, we took several skills from throughout the semester and pushed them further than we had before. We've had to plan several smaller scale software projects before, but here we not only planned software, we also planned the actual towers design, how it will be built, as well as how documentation was handled throughout. This project also required a far more in depth report than we had previously written, one following higher standards than previous.
